Regal L.A. LIVE is home to the first 4DX theater in the United States! Experience the biggest blockbusters like never before with 4DX technology! Inspired by mid-century horror and science fiction movies, “Rocky Horror” became a nearly instant cult classic, and showings with live “shadow cast” performers can still be found in most major cities. In Pittsburgh, the Junior Chamber of Commerce Players are the official “Rocky Horror” shadow cast company. The Pittsburgh Japanese Film Festival will run from March at Row House Cinema in Lawrenceville.

Recent weekly themes have included Denzel Washington, Japanese films, Jean-Luc Godard, Sci-Fi, and stop-motion animation, just to name a few. One cool feature is that if you're really into a certain theme, you can buy a weekly pass for $21 and go see as many films as you like- something we're definitely planning on doing in the future. One of the great things about Row House Cinema is the variety of movies they show during their weekly movie themes as their library is more than your typical art house theater. Following the member thank-you events, the theater will hold a three-week soft opening before a grand reopening event on Sept. 25. That sold-out gala will include a screening of “Pulp Fiction,” the first movie shown in the theater at 4115 Butler St. It’s a discounted membership that you can share with your partner, spouse, bff, mom, favorite barista or whoever you like to see movies with.

Membership codes can only be used on showtimes that are priced as general admission (which is roughly 95% of our showtimes). What is the difference between the Sustaining and the Annual membership? The Sustaining membership allows members to break the payments up into monthly increments that are automatically billed. The community thrives on improvisation and interaction. One of the most important parts of any “Rocky Horror” screening is the “callbacks,” or the responses to certain lines, scenes and characters that audience members yell at the screen throughout the film. Callbacks are outrageous and ever-evolving, and they allow the audience to play off each other and build new traditions.

The theater shows a wide range of films with themes that change every week, and its connection with next door Bierport makes it convenient for bringing craft beer with you into the movies.

The theater itself is rather small and the one downside we found is that there is only one aisle so everyone has to enter each row from the same side. This makes it somewhat tricky if you have to get up in the middle of the movie to go to the restroom or get another beer. During the soft opening, there will be fewer show times than usual and some service reductions while the theater gears up. When it came to making bad movies, Ed Wood was the best.
Our mission is to create a magical experience through awesome movies, food, & beverages. Through our unique programming, we hope to help build a stronger film community in Pittsburgh. Members cannot use their codes for special events such as Brew & Views and Cereal Cinemas. Membership codes are also not valid during our annual Japanese Film Festival. The RealD Premiere Cinema at Regal L.A. LIVE is the biggest movie experience in Los Angeles with the biggest stars and films on the biggest screen.
If you like beer, you should definitely get to Row House 30 minutes to an hour before the show starts. This will allow plenty of time to peruse the more than 900 bottles and cans of craft beer for sale at Bierport and pick out what you want to drink with the movie. Row House Cinema is a single screen theater tucked away in a remodeled row house. Each week a new movie theme is chosen which can be anything from graphic novels, a back to the future tribute, or an Audrey Hepburn film festival. Be sure to arrive early so you have plenty of time to make a beer selection at the neighboring Atlas Bottle Works to enjoy during your movie.
There will also be drama films, anime, classics and even some sci-fi and B movies. “A lot of people don’t realize that Japanese cinema is very influential to American cinema. Some of the greatest filmmakers of all time, like Kurosawa, are Japanese. This is a really important piece of the film diaspora,” Zehmisch said.
Prop bags are also available at showings, and they include items like toast, toilet paper, glow sticks and playing cards. These props are deployed at appropriate moments in the film and add another layer to the experience.
